Heroes Reborn Spoilers

Before the midseason finale, talks of a possible "Heroes Reborn" season 2 began to circulate the rumor mill.

Despite the revival being initially pegged to only be a mini-series, producers are supposedly preparing for a follow-up to the show.

However, reviews for the past couple of episodes have bordered on the negative for the superhero-themed series. Viewership has also been "dismal."

Did its midseason premiere, "Send In The Clones," help boost ratings?

According to reviews, the episode mentioned could very well turn things around.

While IGN praised Rya Kihlstedt's characterization of the revival's big bad as well as the "metaphorical cheese pieces" being moved into position for the episode's ending, they were still not enough to give it the boost it needed.

"It wasn't an explosive new episode to justify the wait, and probably was more harm than help to 'Heroes Reborn's' overall reception as that loss of momentum may have caused some viewers' interest to wane," the review stated.

On the other hand, the reviewer still wanted to see how the next couple of episodes will turn out in the finale. It also rated the episode a "good" rating of 7.9.

Will it help bring about a "Heroes Reborn" season 2, however, is still unknown.

Den Of Geek, meanwhile, thought that the reboot failed to attract a new audience in addition to its already existing fanbase. However, the review did commend the talked about "Send In The Clones" episode.

"Its largely negative reception from those unfamiliar with the original 'Heroes' indicates that the franchise has failed to find itself a new audience," the site noted. "In order to be considered an overall success then, 'Heroes Reborn' needs a strong, satisfying conclusion and 'Send In The Clones,' the first of three remaining episodes, makes very promising moves toward that end."

Should executive producer Tim Kring continue the story on to "Heroes Reborn" season 2 or should the story be completed as a mini-series instead?
