The recent rumors teased that Somerhalder wants to become a father. Speculatalions also claim that the "Vampire Diaries" actor begged his wife to quit the television series, "Sleepy Hollow."
While Ian reportedly respects Nikki's desire to focus on her career, he wants her to also think of having a child soon, Movie News Guide reported. Apparently, the 27-year-old actress might consider her the requesto of her 37-year-old husband, since her love for Ian is bigger than anything else.
Recently, Nikki Reed expressed her love for Ian Somerhalder on an Instagram post, which has created speculations that the actress might indeed agree with Ian's desire to have a child.
"You are my every dream brought to life," wrote Nikki as reported by People Magazine. "With our hands pressed together, I know that we will always find our way home."
Reed even called her husband as a gift to this world and a teacher of light. With great warmth and passion she expressed her love for Somerhalder.
"Here is to the next 65 years together, holding hands, strolling through the woods, still learning, still listening," Reed posted according to E Online.
Additionally, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that a close source to Ian revealed that he is in a big hurry to become a father and even ready to quit his show "The Vampire Diaries" for that sake.
The source also said that Somerhalder doesn't like Nikki's role in "Sleepy Hollow" much and has asked her to look for other options. But for now, all he wants is to get Reed pregnant and start a family.
Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed married last year in April in a very private ceremony in Malibu, Calif. after dating each other for over a period of nine months.
Reed is currently busy with playing the character Betsy on the television series "Sleepy Hollow," while Somerhalder Ian is wrapped under shooting for "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, where he plays the role of Damon Salvatore.
The next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" is slated on Jan. 29 on The CW channel.
