HBO's ‘Girls’ Season 5 Set To Air Next Month; Finale Period Announced!
Before its season 5 premieres next month, HBO's TV series "Girls" is officially announced to be ending on its sixth season.
According to a report from USA Today, the picture company has confirmed that the series will end on its season 6, after three years of running since April 2012.
"HBO has renewed Girls for a sixth and final season," said president Michael Lombardo, in its press release.
The 29-year-old lead star and creator Lena Dunham meanwhile said that the cast for the TV series has already been her family and that she is thankful for HBO for supporting the show.
"The freedom and support that HBO has given Jenni Konner, Judd Apatow and me is something rare and beautiful," the brunette star said. "The commitment and originality of our actors has been stunning, and our crew is truly my family."
The hit TV show is a story of a close group of twenty-something ladies who are all living in New York City. The comedy-drama show's story mainly revolves around the life of Lena Dunham.
Prior to the confirmation, Lena Dunham, whose character is Hannah Horvath, has already hinted about the upcoming HBO "Girls" Season 5 to which will premiere on February 21 in an interview with Elvis Duran in his radio show as report by EW.
The "This is 40" actress also added that the upcoming season will let the viewers "see that the girls are heading to... not a conclusion in their life, but this period of their life - that the show is about - is ending."
Moreso, the upcoming season will showcase how the cast will enter their thirties as part of the conclusion in their six season, idigitaltimes.com said in their report.
Cast members for HBO's "Girls" season 5 include Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, and Adam Driver who plays as Lena Dunham's character's boyfriend.
