'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Release, Spoilers, & More: Creator Reveals What He Won't Do To The Show
It's no surprise that the release date of "Mr. Robot" season 2 is still unknown since the show does not have any concrete plans yet.
Don't take that as a bad news though. Series creator Sam Esmail said they are not getting ahead of themselves when it comes to running the story. He even said being firm on details of "Mr. Robot" season 2 or beyond is dangerous.
"It's very dangerous to be concrete about certain things," he told Entertainment Weekly. "I wouldn't dare say that I'm concrete about everything. That's for sure. What I am beholden to is that I did have an ending in mind when I wrote the feature, and I am building the story toward that ending."
He also said that he does not want his show's storyline to be dictated by its rating performance.
"One thing I never wanted to do with this show was to take a road where we can just go on and on and belabor this until the ratings drop and they cancel it or we end it," he adds.
"I really wanted the narrative to have a purpose. We are heading toward that ending. Along the way, there are going to be other characters and storylines that collide and expand and take us into different paths, but all of this will be the building blocks to that initial ending. I'm keeping it both ways. For me, the utmost importance is having a clear narrative engine and a clear ending that we're moving toward."
"Mr. Robot" season 2 release date will reportedly arrive a little later than the first season. When the show arrives, another thing the show might tackle are problems beyond US Borders.
"There are absolutely international themes," Esmail told Los Angeles Times.
"The idea of wanting to change the world, wanting to revolutionize your society, that's not just something that's happening in America. Loneliness has increased, and that's an impact of technology. That's a global thing and doesn't just pertain to America. Who can't relate to that?"
