'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Release Date Isn't Here Yet But Creator Already Has Grand Plan For Show
Elliot Anderson's followers need to have more patience as "Mr. Robot" season 2 release date is yet to be revealed.
Here's the good news though: If everything goes according to plan, fans of the thriller drama from USA Network will see more of the troubled computer genius and the Fsociety for maximum of four years.
"Mr. Robot" creator Sam Esmail said he envisions his show to last up to five seasons.
"I still stick to four or five," he told Entertainment Weekly when asked about his perceived lifespan of the show which stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater.
Sam Esmail added, "The problem is that our episodes are really long sometimes. I always have to recalibrate. It's a hard thing because to figure out 40 more hours versus 30 more hours, it's difficult. It could even be somewhere in between that. I think that's something we'll always have to adjust after every season. I definitely don't think it's more than five."
He also revealed they have no concrete plan yet. When "Mr. Robot" season 2 release date is announced, that is the time they will start visualizing the storyline for main characters.
"What I am beholden to is that I did have an ending in mind when I wrote the feature, and I am building the story toward that ending," he said. "One thing I never wanted to do with this show was to take a road where we can just go on and on and belabor this until the ratings drop and they cancel it or we end it."
Earlier reports said "Mr. Robot" season 2 release date might be delayed. If the first season debut on June last year, the sophomore run might come a little later.
"USA has yet to set the season two premiere date," Variety wrote. "It's likely to return in the summer but it may start a little later than season one. The show bowed June 24 on USA's linear channel although the pilot was made available for free streaming a month before on a range of platforms."
