The latest update on the "Spawn" movie reboot reveals that the script is ready for the production to start and that casting will soon be done as well, according to Comic Book.

Creator of the "Spawn" superhero character, Todd McFarlane revealed a new update on the much-awaited movie reboot. While he earlier expressed his interest and excitement in working on the project, his recent statement discussed the movie's script.

"I finished writing the script, about 165 pages," said McFarlane, reported Comic Book Resources. "I put it off to the shelf, in 20-30 days, I'll go back and have to cut it down."

Todd also hinted that the movie reboot will not focus on the superhero character from the animated series. He teased that he has written a horror story script to provide a totally new angle to the storyline of the "Spawn" movie.

The Gate reported that McFarlane also discussed the movie reboot during the Toronto's The Gate Fan Expo, revealing that it will be a very quick shoot once the project starts.

"It's not going to be a giant budget with a lot of special effects," said Todd as reported by Franchise Herald. "It's going to be more of a horror movie and a thriller movie, not a superhero one. I've got so many people phoning now that I've got to get it done."

McFarlane also revealed that the "Spawn" movie is going to be "R-rated," which means that it would consist of more villainous and horror stuff, but still be based on the similar lines of the comic book story, readers enjoy.

The author said that he wants to just showcase midnight bad guy stuff happening on the streets, which involve intense police and thieves sequences for the movie reboot.

The official release date for "Spawn" movie reboot is yet to be spilled out by the movie production house.
