'Scalebound' Xbox One Release Date Pushed Back To 2017; Delay Caused By Dev's 'Ambitious Vision?'
Microsoft's Xbox One exclusive "Scalebound" release date has been postponed until 2017.
"Scalebound" is one of the most anticipated Xbox game for 2016. Amazon already listed the game for £42.85 and scheduled for a summer release in the UK. However, the latest update from Platinum Games brings a little setback to players.
The game developers co-authored a blog post claiming that the release date for "Scalebound" won't happen until 2017 as they need more time to deliver their "ambitious vision" of the game. They also added that a longer time frame will allow them to bring "innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences."
"Development on the game is going well and we're really happy with how it's coming together. Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale - all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It's the game our team has always dreamed of making," the post reads.
Announced at Gamescon 2015 back in August, the upcoming RPG game "Scalebound" features two main characters, Drew and Thuban, where the story will revolve.
As for gameplay, it can be played on multiplayer mode which allow players to summon friends' dragons for some form of co-op play. Also, Drew can control Thuban execute different fighting combos "against groups of soldiers and unimaginable monsters on Draconis," Win Beta added.
""Scalebound" casts players as Drew, a young man drawn into the world of Draconis and bound body and soul to the mighty dragon Thuban. Early previews indicate a gorgeous game with a potent mix of real time combat and RPG character development for both its central characters," described Wired UK.
