Sarah Silverman On Zoloft; Depressed ‘Master Of Sex’ Star Gets Bad-Rap From Christmas Tweet

It was reported that actress and comedienne Sarah Silverman, who stars in the hit series "Master of Sex" with real-love boyfriend Michael Sheen, revealed in interviews that she was suffering from depression.

Moreover, the Emmy winner has recently received a lot of backlash for her Christmas tweet over in Twitter, according to sources.

"I've lived with depression and learned to control it, or at least to ride the waves as best I can," Silverman said in an interview, courtesy of Glamour.

"Once, my stepdad asked me, 'What does it feel like?' And I said, 'It feels like I'm desperately homesick, but I'm home,'" Silverman said.

"I'm on a small dose of Zoloft, which, combined with therapy, keeps me healthy but still lets me feel highs and lows," she added.

Although Sarah Silverman is under this condition, the acclaimed comedienne is adamant about not letting the depression define her. She is perseverant in overcoming her depression.

"I still have downward spirals, days when I have to drag myself onstage to do stand-up or I'm just tweeting Morrissey lyrics from my bed," she said via People.

"But there's one thing I know that I used to not know: It will pass," the actress added.

In recent news, 45-year old comedienne Sarah Silverman received a lot of negative responses when she posted a Christmas tweet over at het Twitter account.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS! Jesus was gender fluid!" She wrote on her Twitter.

The tweet raised a lot of backlash coming from Silverman's Twitter followers, who most of them assumed that the actress was mocking the religious figure, as stated by ET Online.

The comedian and Emmy winner went on to explain further about the controversy around her tweet.

"I'm not against Christianity," she said, courtesy of Huffington Post.

"I date Catholic men! That's always what they come back with, 'Sarah Silverman mocks Christianity!' I'm not!" She added.

"As a matter of fact, I have no religion and many people in my life that I love and respect and even look up to have religion. I'm not out to prove them wrong," she further stated.

Sarah Silverman is currently dating her real-love co-star Michael Sheen.

Both Silverman and Michael Sheen can be seen together in the widely acclaimed series "Master of Sex," which is expected to air its 4th season this 2016, according to Variety.
