Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 Off To Epic Start With Over $200K In 2 Days

Whether you're into saving or killing the animals, there's no question that Awesome Games Done Quick is a one of a kind event for both casual and dedicated gamers.

Moreover, it's an event that continues to be one of the most special charity events of its kind.

It's day two of Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 and it would seem that the charity video game racing event is off to a great start with over $200,000 already raised for its current charity, the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Fans can get in on the live stream via the Games Done Quick Twitch Channel.

As of the publication of this post, Awesome Games Done Quick 2016, or AGDQ2016 as it is known among frequenters, has raised $209,000 since beginning in the morning of Jan. 3. The streaming event continues until Jan. 9, with the top speed-runners of each game providing round the clock entertainment. Fans can check out the video game schedule for AGDQ2016 here.

Though the runners may be staying up all day and night (as gamers tend to do), in case you miss the action, each run is uploaded to the official Games Done Quick YouTube channel shortly after it is completed.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 is the first of two charity events run by Games Done Quick, the second event being held in the summer. Fans and watchers that donate to the event are entered in contests for giveaways that have previously included gaming consoles and other prizes. In addition, fans can dedicate their donations to specific live events like having a player give them a shout out, sing a song, or even play a video game blindfolded.

Here's hoping for another record breaking Awesome Games Done Quick, perhaps this time breaking the $5 million barrier.
