Amir Khan Hiding And Does Not Want To Fight Kell Brook Next Says Boxing Pundit
Amir Khan's next fight is supposed to be against Manny Pacquiao. However, it was only his camp that believed it will happen.
Pacman already has an opponent in Timothy Bradley, the third installment of their rivalry, and Khan is yet to resurface or speak about his plans.
There are no definite details yet regarding Amir Khan's next fight even if he is already eight months remove from his win against Chris Algieri last year. This has sparked speculations that he is hiding from possible opponent Kell Brook.
Matchroom Sport chairman Barry Hearn is disappointed with the former Olympian for continuously chasing big names even if he can ink a deal with other fighters already.
"I know Pacquiao well and Bob Arum is a friend of mine," Matchroom founder Hearn said to Sky Sports.
"I asked Arum 'what percentage of a chance does Khan have of fighting Pacquiao?' Arum said 'less than one per cent'. He had no chance. I'm very disappointed because Khan has been almost impossible. He doesn't seem to want to fight anybody. [Being in America] is an excuse."
Earn also advised Amir Khan to be realistic about his goals when it comes to boxing his career.
"What I'm saying is that you have to be realistic and live in the real world," he said. "He spent 18 months chasing Floyd Mayweather without one per cent chance of ever fighting Floyd Mayweather. Then he spent six months chasing Manny Pacquiao."
The boxing promoter also talked about the possible fight between Khan and Kell Brook who earlier had a social media rift.
Hearn thinks Khan is hiding from his fellow British boxer.
"He doesn't want to fight Brook," he claimed. "He was gambling that he'd get a bigger payday but he'll get a lot of money for fighting Brook - but he may get beaten, and I think he probably will. Eddie is trying to talk to his people all the time, and he says he wants to fight. Do I believe him? Not really, no."
Amid all the reports about Amir Khan's next fight, the boxer is yet to surface and comment on the claims.
