Noomi Rapace Is Not Returning As Elizabeth Shaw In 'Alien: Covenant' - Plot And Spoilers Detailed!
From "Prometheus 2" to "Alien: Paradise Lost," it has recently been reported that the sequel to Ridley Scott's 2012 sci-fi film "Prometheus" is now called "Alien: Covenant."
Moreover, rumors have circulated that actress Noomi Rapace might not return to play her role as Elizabeth Shaw according to the film's plot and spoilers, as claimed by sources.
According to Geek, Rapace's character was not mentioned in the official synopsis of "Alien: Covenant."
Ridley Scott's "Alien: Covenant" plot was given more context with the official synopsis that reads:
"Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship 'Covenant' discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world-whose sole inhabitant is the 'synthetic' David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition," courtesy of Music Times.
As such, it was speculated that the spoiler for "Alien: Covenant's" plot left fans asking "What happened to Elizabeth Shaw?" and "Why was David stranded on that planet?" as claimed by Slashfilm.
In recent news, it was announced that Katherin Waterston ("Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "The Babysitters") was cast to portray the film's lead character Daniels, who will be part of a new crew of the colony ship Covenant, as reported by Blastr.
Director Ridley Scott set the premise of the plot as he hinted on few spoilers about "Alien: Covenant" in an interview with Deadline.
"You've got to go back and find those Engineers and see what they are thinking," Scott said in the interview, courtesy of Digital Spy.
"If engineers are the forerunners of us, and therefore were creators of life forms in places that were possible for biology to function, who created that?" he added.
"Where's the big boy? You think this was all an accident? I don't know. Even Stephen Hawking now says he's not sure. He no longer believes in the big bang," he concluded.
