'Batman V Superman' News: Man Of Steel To Play As The Film's Villain?
The latest in "Batman V Superman" news claimed that Superman might be the villain in the upcoming crossover film.
In Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War," it isn't clear who the bad guys are yet, although in the comic book Iron Man and his pro-registration side won and Captain America, the title hero in the upcoming film, ends up being assassinated.
"There's no clear bad guy here," explained lead actor Chris Evans during a panel at Salt Lake Comic-Con last year."We both have a point of view, which is akin to most disagreements in life and politics."
Meanwhile, in the "Batman V Superman" world, it seems that one of the two title heroes has been dubbed as the movie's antagonist. As many already know, the movie will be largely inspired by Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" where Batman is clearly the hero and Superman, although not the main antagonist, plays a "bad guy."
According to Comic Book, Batman is the "unambiguous" hero of the film, being that he's "been through a lot, lost a lot, and he seems only focused on making the world a safer place, in the face of this godlike opposition." Superman on the other hand, with his powers unchecked is seen as a threat to humanity after he leveled Metropolis during his fight with General Zod in 2013's "Man of Steel."
However, based on a new "Batman V Superman" synopsis published by IGN, a "new threat" will force the two to work with each other.
"A dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction."
While many speculate that the "new threat" could be Lex Luthor or Doomsday, it is noteworthy to mention that the synopsis came out after Doomsday and Luthor have been introduced in the trailers, and therefore could be an entirely new villain.
