Windows 10 Mobile Update Release Date Confirmed? 8GB Memory Required?

Microsoft has announced the mobile update of Windows 10 Operating systems to be available for smartphones soon.

Though this was talked about since August 2015, there hasn't been any official declaration pertaining to the release date yet. But it is still expected soon. A couple of weeks ago, the company had announced this update to be arriving in 2016(with 2015 gone), but the exact date still remains unrevealed. Although, the latest windows smartphones- Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL already comes with Windows 10 software. Thus, other uses of windows phones might be looking forward for this update that Microsoft has promised for.

"We're working to make Windows 10 available to eligible Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8.1 as an upgrade," an official statement from the company read, pertaining to the mobile update, as cited by ubergizmo.com. " your Lumia is eligible for the upgrade, we'll let you know when it's ready. 8 GB of internal memory required."

"Like any upgrade to a new operating system, not every phone will support all possible Windows 10 features," the statement added. "Certain features and experiences will require more advanced future hardware."

In this regard, Microsoft has warned its users that there will be a requirement of at least 8GB storage on their smartphones, thus, to acquire this OS update, they will have to clear out data stored in their phones that they might no longer require.

Certain features which will likely be unavailable for upgraded handsets include USB OTG (which needs USB dual-mode support) and Continuum (for phones which is available only for mobiles with the right GPU that supports dual screens).

The Windows 10 Update for mobile which was due back in December 2015 is expected as soon as possible, this year (with the exact release date still unknown). Thus, fans could either purchase microsoft's New lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones or wait for the official update.
