"Thor: Ragnarok" cast rumors claim that the renowned Australian actress Cate Blanchett will be playing a female villain in the movie.

While production works of the third installment of the film is likely to begin in 2016, it is alleged that the flick will have a female villain. Though it is not yet clear which character would be portrayed as an antagonist in the movie, anticipations revolve around the key characters-the Queen of the Norn's Karnilla; Hela, Queen of the Dead; Knorda and the Enchantress Amora, according to Blasting News.

Enchantress, among other three characters, is believed to be on the top of the list and is rumored to have started discussion with Thor franchise. Next to Enchantress, Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death, is one of the fan-favorites.

It must be noted that Hela is also the daughter of Loki, who was the main antagonist in previous "Thor" installment.

As far as "Thor: Ragnarok" casting is concerned, it is expected that an actress as famous and talented as Cate Blanchett would play the female villain in the flick. Mark Rufallo, who played the green giant "Hulk" in the movies will reprise his role in the movie while Chris Hemsworth's plays the lead character, reported MNR Daily.

"I think 'Thor 3' needs to be injected with that sort of smart wit and unexpected kind of humor, kind of what James Gunn came in and did with 'Guardians of the Galaxy,'" said Hemsworth while talking about the idea of introducing a female antagonist in the movie.

"It was like off center and unpredictable, and I think we can definitely use a dose of that, you know? Let's try something different,' and Taika just had such a brilliant sort of take and funny kind of ideas about where we could (go), how we could do that," the "Thor:Ragnarock" lead cast added per an article published by Breathe Cast.
