Xbox Live With Gold January 2016 Free Games Now Accesible; Brings Four New Titles
Xbox Live with Gold free games for the month of January 2016 are now available for download.
Microsoft kicks off the new year with a new set of free titles for its Xbox Live with Gold program. This month, subscribers of Xbox Live are treated with four titles- two for each console.
For the Xbox One, "Killer Instinct: Season One Ultra Edition" will be free throughout the month of January 2016. Players may also download eight "Season One" characters that includes Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Thunder, Sadira, Orchid, Spinal, and Fulgore and eight additional costumes. Also, the Ultra Edition has 16 accessory packs. In addition, the game also gives access to "Killer Instant Classic," Ecumenical News reported.
In addition for Xbox One's free titles, the Indie 3D fighting game "Zheros" will be offered free on the second half of January until Feb. 15.
Meanwhile, Xbox 360 console owners can also get two free titles. Originally priced at $14.99, "DiRT Showdown" requires zero Microsoft points from Jan. 1 to 15.
"DiRT Showdown puts you behind the wheel of a variety of rally cars and trucks in a whole mess of racing, demolition, "Hoonigan," and party events - both single- and multiplayer. Winning events nets you prize money, which means unlocking higher difficulty levels, more events, and deeper challenges," Thurrott said .
The game will then be replaced by the action RPG game "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" which will be offered by the second half of January 2016.
As promised by the latest New Xbox One Experience, which brought the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility feature, all upcoming Xbox 360 free titles will support this feature. This means that the two free titles for Xbox 360 are also playable on Xbox One.
Major Nelson also noted that these free titles are exclusive to Xbox Live with Gold subscribers. However, titles may vary in different regions depending on market availability.
