Fans of the Los Angeles-based rock band Tool were appeased to hear that they can now concentrate on working and releasing their new album after winning an exhausting legal battle, which hindered them from releasing their record.

As such, the band performed an excerpt from their latest album, which is currently called "Descending," as tribute to their victory, according to sources.

In an interview conducted with Tool, guitarist Adam Jones immediately acknowledged the fact that the band's much anticipated new album is "going well."

Additionally, he said that after winning an exhausting Homeric legal battle, which stifled the album's progress and release, the instrumental tune "Descending" was actually a preview of a larger song in their latest record, as reported by the RollingStone.

"My philosophy has always been, 'It's not good when it's done, it's done when it's good,'" the guitarist said.

Earlier this year, prog-metal band Tool explained why it was not able to release their new album to fans, saying that the biggest problem was the myriad of lawsuits the band encountered from a convoluted legal drama involving their label and their insurance company, as reported by Spin.

"The fans are pissed at us," Jones said in the interview, courtesy of the source. "It's time that they understand what's going on."

Tool's drummer Danny Carey commented on how the whole legal fiasco hindered the band from releasing their album on time.

"The whole thing is really depressing," the drummer said, courtesy of the RollingStone.

"The bad thing is it's really time consuming. As we've gotten older and our priorities have changed, it's hard to get the band on a good, solid schedule as it is. People have kids now," he added.

"And there's lots of other things that pop up. To throw this into the mix, it makes everything that much worse and stresses people out."

As such, it was reported that Tool recently played a new material off of their new album called "Descending," which they played in Halloween in Tempe, Arizona, according to Metal Injection.

It was noted that the band performed "Descending" on their only show of 2015 donning Led Zeppelin costumes for Halloween, as stated by Guitar World
