Ryan Murphy's widely popular TV series "American Horror Story" season 6 has been confirmed by FX.

In addition, the much anticipated installment of the TV series could have actress Emma Roberts and Jessica Lange join the rest of the cast members, according to sources.

Along with other long-standing TV series, such as "Glee," "Nip/Tuck," "American Crime Story," and Fox's latest "Scream Queens," it was confirmed by California-based American basic cable FX that season 6 of Ryan Murphy's successful "American Horror Story" series is moving forward, as reported by the Den of Geek.

Accordingly, the confirmation of "American Horror Story's" season 6 was issued in a statement by satellite-television channel FX President John Landgraf, as stated by the source.

"With the sixth installment coming next year, 'American Horror Story' has unquestionably joined the ranks of television's landmark series," he stated, courtesy of Coming Soon.

"Fom Murder House to Hotel, AHS has pioneered a new television form as well as becoming FX's highest rated show-while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity," he added.

"This is even more remarkable because Ryan and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful and entertaining. You could not as more of an artist, their team or a series and with every new installment they deliver," he concluded.

It was also reported that actress Emma Roberts and Jessica Lange might return to join the season 6 cast of "American Horror Story," according to sources.

Jessica Lange hinted that fans of the series "American Horror Story" have not seen the last of her and that she might indeed be returning to the show, as stated by Project Casting.

"If Ryan came to me and said, 'Would you want to do a small character for a couple episodes?' I would absolutely say yes if I liked it," the actress said, courtesy of the source.

"This was a great collaboration, so I would love to keep working with him," she added.

As recent news unfolded that Ryan Murphy has indeed confirmed the appearance of Jessica Lange in the next installment, the show's creator also assured its fans that Emma Roberts as well is expected to join the cast, as reported by Movie News Guide.

"Ryan and I said next season we'll do something amazing and devilish," the young actress stated.

"I love this season, I watch most of it with my eyes closed, but I think I get the gist. I love Lady Gaga so much, so I was like, 'Next season I want to work with Lady Gaga for sure,'" she further stated, courtesy of Movie Pilot
