NBA trade rumor: Brandon Jennings To New York Knicks?

Detroit Pistons is a mine for quality point guards. However, one of their main back court guy might find himself in another team soon as recent NBA trade rumors suggest one team is showing interest to acquire him.

New York Daily News, citing an unnamed source, revealed that the New York Knicks are looking for a new point guard and Motor City's veteran Brandon Jennings is on their radar.

"The Knicks, according to a source, have interest in several point guards including Jennings, who finally returned to the lineup after rupturing his left Achilles tendon nearly 11 months ago," the NBA trade rumor from NY Daily reads. "That's a red flag right there. Jennings went 2-for-4 with seven points and four assists in 17 minutes in his season debut."

Amid the said NBA trade rumors and although the report puts emphasis on New York Knicks' doubts on the 26-year old point guard's health, it also said that Phil Jackson will be patient with him. Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy also thinks Brandon Jennings has enough time to recover and regain his top form.

"Oh yeah, I don't think there is any doubt," he said. "Brandon is coming back well off of the injury and he's a guy who just absolutely loves to play, loves to be in the gym. He's still young, he's still 26. I don't think there's any doubt he'll be."

Brandon Jennings has just returned from an Achilles tendon injury he suffered in January this year that ruled him out for the rest of the season. Per a statement, he returned to full game early December by voluntarily demoting himself to Detroit Pistons' D-League affiliate Grand Rapids Drive.

He made his first appearance for the team this 2015-16 season on December 29 but they lost to New York Knicks. During the outing, Brandon Jennings scored seven points and dished out four assists in 16 minutes of play.

If there is a hole in New York Knicks' squad, it is in the back court. Coach Derrick Fisher's side has Jerian Grant who averages 5.1 points per game and 2.2 assists, Jose Calderon (7.2 PPG, 3.8 APG), and Aaron Afflalo (13.1 PPG, 1.8 APG).

The certainty of this NBA trade rumor involving New York Knicks is still very much in the air.
