Moviegoers were delighted to catch the buzz surrounding the rumors of an upcoming "Beetlejuice 2" movie by Tim Burton.

As more and more updates of the movie surfaced, a release date for the sequel to the acclaimed movie has already been speculated, according to sources.

After the success of Michael Keaton's Oscar-worthy performance in "Birdman" and Tim Burton's true-life drama "Big Eyes" receiving rave reviews, it was reported that it has come to the perfect timing for Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice 2" to happen, as stated by Cinema Blend.

The award-winning film director unveiled that he was very excited about the idea of "Beetlejuice 2" and reuniting with actor Michael Keaton, who played the lead character in the first installment.

He even teased that things are starting to progress in relation to the movie's release date, according to the source.

"It's a character that I love and I miss and I miss actually working with Michael," Tim Burton said, courstesy of Coming Soon.

"There's only one Betelgeuse. We're working on a script and I think it's probably closer than ever and I'd love to work with him again," the filmmaker added.

In recent news, Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice 2" might have an earlier release date than expected as it was revealed that a script for the sequel was already on hand, as stated by Crossmap.

"I've emailed with Michael Keaton," writer of "Beetlejuice 2" Seth Grahame-Smith said, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

"I know he's excited about the idea. Where it stands now is Tim's got to get ready to make 'Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children,' and then hopefully we are set, deals are done, and we're waiting in the wings ready to go right after 'Peregrine's' wraps up," he added.

"The ideal timeline is we're really getting into it toward the end of this year," he further added.

"There's a script now that I think is closer to what it could be and I'm excited about it," Tim Burton said, courtesy of Crossmap.

"I wouldn't call it so much as a sequel, but it'll have some characters from the original 'Beetlejuice.' It's a bit too early to say but it's definitely something that's on my radar and something I'd love to do," he added.
