"The Last of Us 2" release date announcement is rumored to be next year, according to Crossmap.
Since "Uncharted 4 is going to be released this coming March 18, 2016, fans speculate that the sequel of "The Last of Us" will most likely follow. Some even speculate that the announcement for the "Last of Us 2" release date might be next year.
It was confirmed by Nolan North, a voice actor in several Naughty Dog games that "Last of Us 2" is in development.
"For now, 'Uncharted 4' is the last one," said North. "I know they're doing 'The Last of Us 2,' but my character in 'The Last of Us' met an untimely demise."
Meanwhile, it was also speculated that "The Last of Us 2" might go with the RPG route following the released trailer of "Uncharted 4" featuring conversation options open for a player to choose, according to Movie Pilot.
Dialogue options in video games are usually there to give players the opportunity to create a unique experience in the game.
In addition, these dialogue options usually show up on RPGs and since "Uncharted 4" features it, fans quickly speculated that "The Last of Us 2" might have it as well in the future.
There are no confirmed reports or announcements from Naughty Dog about this yet, however.
