Google Glass News: Version 2.0 Is Real With Photos To Prove It; 'Project Aura' Also Rumored
For the Google Glass news, version 2.0 of the gadget is real with an album of photos to prove it, according to Fortune.
It was announced officially that the Google Glass will stop production. Google stated on Jan. 15, 2015 that production will be halted, but they will remain committed to the development of the product. Project Glass, according to Google is ready to graduate from Google X which is the experimental stage. It was also rumored that the Google Glass is actually not dead and it now has a new model.
Today, it was announced that a brand new model has appeared on a website. The website also has high-resolution images of the upgraded gadget. It can be viewed here. The pictures show the gadget with the FCCID "A4R-GG1."
Gadget websites have noticed that the new Google Glass looks a lot like the old version of the Glass design. According to this new Google Glass news, the biggest change is that it can now be folded up, just like an ordinary pair of glasses. The prism feature is longer which is speculated to offer a larger picture, according to CNET.
Google has also filed patents for the new version of the Google Glass, complete with documents and especially a user manual that contains interesting information, according to ZDNet.
"The plastic cube just above your right eye allows you to interact with the device," read the document. "The Home Screen is your starting point. By default, the display shows you the current time."
"The camera button is located on top of the device near the display," the document continued. "Press the camera button to take a photo. Hold it down to record a video. The green light shows when the camera is on."
Also on the Google Glass news, it was rumored that a mysterious Google Glass reboot was being done and it was called "Project Aura," according to sources. There was no announcement from Google to confirm this rumor.
