China's Xiaomi Breaks Into Tablet Market

Xiaomi hinted their users that they are already on the final phase of the upcoming Android Marshmallow update on the smartphones.

The operations manager of the company shared a brief information on Weibo that featured a glimpse of the new mobile operating system's 6.0, MIUI version number 5.21.24. Even though, the recently released interface still under Lollipop, it will not remain to the current running software, according to Android Authority.

It was reported that the new upgrade will be 518MB and will allegedly be included to Mi Note and Mi 4 as announced in early December. The Xiaomi  Android Marshmallow update will be based on MIUI 7, the company owned ROM creation that was reported to provide 30 percent faster system functionality with 10 percent additional battery longevity, according to Christian Today.

There were reports that consumers who bought the company's smartphone were allegedly disappointed that it will still have Android 4.4 rather than Lollipop. During that time, the company assured users that the MIUI 7 features will be installed on all devices, according to Tech2.

The MIUI 7 will include new features such as Child mode, XXL-sized text setting option, a smart baby album creator that collects all kinds of  images that will be detected by the phone, an enhanced notification manager, and Showtime.

The Mi 4 was the first smartphone installed with MIUI 7 in October, which was initially released in July 2014 with Android Kitkat OS. The handset has a five inches IPS LCD with 1080 x 1920 screen resolution, has 3GB RAM and worked with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.

It was also reported that the said smartphone will receive the first mobile OS update to roll out, which costs $226. Aside from the said platform, the company also has a Windows 10 mobile version for its devices to give their users variety of options.

As of the moment, Xiaomi hasn't released an official statement with regard to the Android Marshmallow update release date.
