PlayStation Network Email Verification Fixed; Did Issue Appear Due To Account Creation?

The PlayStation Network email verification delay has finally been fixed, according to PlayStationLifeStyle.net.

A few days ago, the PlayStation Network had a problem with the feature where new PSN users will set up their new accounts. The new users did not seem to continue the process due to account validation issues which prevents them from accessing the online services. The servers at that time It was also confirmed that the PSN servers were up and running and did not have any problems with the users who have an account already. The problem was only with the new ones trying to register their new accounts.

The issue was regarding the account creation, according to Gaming Bolt. There were delays with the account validation and password reset emails during the time the issues were appearing. Some game websites speculate that it was due to the number of people that were simultaneously logging on for the holiday season. This caused massive traffic for the servers and some speculate some servers had problems afterwards.

Sony was aware of the situation and tried to remedy the issue as soon as possible, according to Gamespot.

Some new users were already complaining on the Ask PlayStation twitter account due to the delays. A PSN account is essential for a player to log in to the server and access some of the services of the PlayStation Store. A PSN account is also needed to subscribe to PlayStation Plus and play games online for multiplayer gaming.

The PlayStation Network email verification delay has since then been fixed, according to sources. There were no further details on what the reason was for the delays or how it even started in the first place. There was no confirmation with the numerous speculations from the game websites that tried to guess.
