It will be directed by Justin Kurzel and produced by Ubisoft Motion Pictures and Frank Marshall.

Michael Fassbender has revealed that he has never played any of the games in the "Assassin's Creed" game series before he was offered the part. He has starred in many fantasy roles already and this time he will be part of a large video game series that spans nine video games in all.

"I hadn't played it before these guys approached me," said Fassbender in an interview. "I've played it since mainly to get an idea of the physicality of the character."
