Hoverboards For Sale This Christmas; Arca Space Releases True Hoverboard ‘ArcaBoard’
Hobbyists and sport buffs alike were dismayed when they heard of the recent news that surrounded the popular device, known as hoverboards, which ultimately affected its sales this Christmas. However, it was recently unveiled that Arca Space has released a "true" hoverboard, which they named as ArcaBoard, according to sources.
Recent news has revealed that at least 16 reports of hoverboard-related fires in 12 states are being observed and investigated by federal agencies, as stated by Who TV.
"We consider this a priority investigation," US Consumer Product Safety Commission Spokeswoman Patty Davis told reporters, courtesy of the source. "This is a popular holiday item and it's going to be in a lot of consumers' homes, and we'd like to quickly get to the bottom of why some hoverboards catch fire," she added.
In another report, a hoverboard that was on sale at Crabtree Valley Mall, caught fire while charging inside the home of the Cary family, according to WRAL.
"My husband was quick to get a fire extinguisher, and he sprayed it, and then it stopped, but then it comes roaring back, and it popped," the mother of the Cary family stated to reporters, courtesy of the source. "It sounds like fireworks-when people say that, they're telling the truth," she added.
As such, the US Department of Transportation on Thursday issued a safety alert regarding hoverboards for sale and being transported as cargo without complying with hazardous materials regulations, courtesy of USA Today.
Moreover, Arca Space has recently announced and unveiled a "true" hoverboard when it posted a video showing a device that actually hovers, according to AJC.

The "ArcaBoard," the hoverboard being sold by Arca Space Corporation, sports 36 fans that can lift the device with a weight up to 243 lbs a foot off the ground, and it also has onboard sensors to help stabilize the vehicle while hovering, as listed by the source.
The hoverboard by Arca Space is for sale at $19,900, as estimated by the Northern Californian.
