'Avatar 2' Release Date Confirmed; Cast Revealed As James Cameron Release Statement!
Director James Cameron recently confirmed with the Montreal Gazette the official release date of "Avatar 2"along with possible sequels to follow.
The movie is expected to hit theatres on Dec. 25, 2017 and he said in a statement that, "that's what we've announced," according to IGN.
"But I don't consider that to be as important as the fact that when we get all three films done, we drop them a year apart. I call it a met-narrative that runs across the three movies. Each film stands alone, but it also tells one much larger story," he added.
Aside from the "Avatar 2" release date, two more sequels of the movie were reported to follow in 2018 and 2019. Cameron said that the characters and design is almost complete which is a big task for the production that took them two years to fulfill it. It will also feature new settings within the world of Pandora as well as other creatures, according to Daily Mail.
In addition, the director revealed, "The writing is ongoing, but almost finished," according to Collider.
"Technical development is done. Stages are done. Infrastructure. So we're really poised to start after the first of the year," he added.
As of the moment, fans were still on the hype of "Star Wars," Marvel and other upcoming movies however, some believes Cameron's first franchise of the film offered many factor also in terms of its design creativity that has been compared to other works.
"Avatar 2" release date will follow the previous franchise showed in 2009 that remained at the top as the highest grossing film with $2.782 billion in the worldwide box office.
The sequel's cast will include Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana as reported by E! news in January last year along with Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver who were allegedly return in the big screen.
