Cases of Doves chocolate candy are being recalled, after a customer unwrapped and found in an assortment bag a piece of Snickers, according to Eyewitness News.

Mars Chocolate North America, a Washington-based company, issued the voluntary recall Friday and close to 6,700 cases are being recalled because the bags may have pieces of its other products, this includes Twix, Milky Way and Snickers.

This may be dangerous for customers with wheat, milk, or peanut allergies, who are unaware that the bag may contain candies with these ingredients. The affected 24-ounce bags were being sold in 35 states, at Walmart stores between Sep. 19 and Dec. 1.

"People who have allergies to peanuts, wheat and/or eggs have the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," the company said in a statement. "We are fully cooperating with the FDA on this matter."

Mars added that product quality and food safety are very important to the company. The chocolate maker pointed out that they "are committed to the highest standards" for all of their products.

No adverse allergic reactions or injuries have been reported, cited ABC.

The company is removing the said products from the shelves and Mars Chocolate says, should consumers have concerns, products should be returned to the store where it was purchased. Customers will then be able to receive a full refund.

Recalls for undeclared allergens are common and 43 of them were made in 2014. This brought a total of 94 recalls of all food products; which includes everything from meat, poultry, produce to all kinds of food.

The candy maker also produces well known treats like Skittles and M&M's.

Dove's parent company Mars also instructed customers to look up the item number, UPC code and lot code of the recalled packages at fda.gov, reported CNN Money.

They can also call 1-800-551-0907. The chocolate candy manufacturer would not name the retailer who sold the chocolate assortment snowflakes.
