Durant Stats Update: LeBron Says KD Has Chance To Become NBA’s All-Time Lead Scorer
Praises were sent to Kevin Durant about his stats as LeBron James commented about it saying that the former might have a shot at being NBA's all-time scorer, juts moments before the Oklahoma City Thunders faced off for the first time against James' Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night, according to sources.
"Durant's a 7-footer with 6-foot ball-handling skills and a jump shot," basketball superstar LeBron James said on Thursday morning, courtesy of USA Today.
"And athleticism. It's never been done in our league. Never had a guy that's 7-foot can jump like that, can shoot like that, handle the ball like that. So it sets him apart," he added.
"Durant's ability to score the ball is obviously up there with the greatest to ever play," the Cavalier said, courtesy of the Sporting News. "I know passing Jabbar is not in his memory bank right now, him trying to help the team get better and better, but long term he definitely can challenge Jabbar's record," he added.
Kevin Durant's stats has him slated at 31.57 PER, with an averaging 28.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists per game, and a career-high of a true shooting percentage of 65.9%, as listed by Fox Sports.
However, both the Cavalier LeBron James and Thunder's forward Kevin Durant have their stats pacing one another similarly, as the former has his career scoring average at the fourth in the all-time list with 27.32 points per game and Durant is at fifth with a scoring average per game of 27.31, as reported by the Sporting News.
As the Oklahoma City Thunders went off at a slow start on Sunday night against the Utah Jazz, Kevin Durant clearly asserted the impact of his stats on the game by finishing with 31 points, 5 rebounds, 6 steals, a block shot and a steal, as stated by the Washington Post.
"Give him credit," Oklahoma City Thunders Coach Billy Donovan said, courtesy of the source. "He kept his composure the whole entire game. He was really positive in the locker room when we're down 13. Kevin wants to win and he came out and really responded. He got going right away," he added.
