Google's Top Ten Trending People of 2015 Revealed!: Trans Caitlyn Jenner Nabbed Second Place?

Google has released their list of the most searched terms of 2015, naming its top trending people Wednesday, according to Yahoo Tech.

The "top trending people" refers to  "the searches that had the highest spike in traffic over a sustained period in 2015 as compared to 2014," according to a Google spokesperson.

Every year there are 1.2 trillion searches made on Google and at the end of the year, the company trolls through data to come up with a list of the most popular terms.

"19 Kids And Counting" star Josh Duggar comes in last place. He apologized for his double life when he admitted to cheating on his wife when reports surfaced that he was a member of the adultery website, Ashley Madison.

Coming in next is Adele who released her blockbuster album "25" in November. The superstar singer sold 2.3. million copies in its first three days according to Neilsen, revealed CNN.

The former head of NAACP chapter, Rachel Dolezal takes eighth place. She came under fire nationally when she identified as black and because of her race suffered hate crimes.

Dolezal was slammed for misinterpreting her ethnicity and attempting to pass as "black."

"NBC Nightly News'" Brian Williams comes in seventh. The anchorman was suspended for six months after confessing to saying things that were not true during his coverage of the Iraq War.

Charlie Sheen took sixth place when he announced on NBC's "Today" that he is HIV-positive.

Fifth place on Google's "top trending people of 2015" is Ruby Rose, a 29-year old from Australia. She recieved her big break this year on Netflix's original series, "Orange Is The New Black." She played the mysterious new inmate, Stella Carlin in the third season.

Real estate mogul and businessman Donald Trump stands at fourth place after announcing he will be running for president.

UFC Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey grabs the third place as she was voted ESPN's "Best Female Athlete Ever."

Glamour Magazine's "Woman of the Year," Caitlyn Jenner comes in second in this year's list after coming out as trans.

Finally, nabbing the top spot on Google's "top trending people of 2015" list is former basketball player, Lamar Odom who was found unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel after allegedly overdosing on illegal drugs. He is currently in recovery, reported CBS News.

"We can certainly say because he's tied to the Kardashians, people might have known him from his NBA playing days but we saw an amazing amount of interest just out of these tragic events," said Daniel Sieberg, who is a Google News Lab trends expert.
