'Ghost Busters 3' Movie Cast Photos Released; Controversies Arise Against Feig And Wiig?
"Ghost Busters 3" movie cast lineup has officially been revealed through teaser photos released recently, according to sources.
Fans of the widely acclaimed movie franchise, "Ghostbusters", were able to get a preview of its latest installment's, "Ghostbusters 3", official photo depicting its main cast, released just recently, which could propel the movie's appeal to appease its purist fans, as stated by sources.
Paul Feig's "Ghostbusters 3", the much anticipated 2016 reboot of the original franchise, has recently released the first official image of its film, which focuses on its all-female cast, and it has everything fans could ever want and expect, according to E Online.
The "Ghostbusters 3" official photo can already indicate who the all-female cast will be, as reported by Cinema Blend.
Fans will be able to imagine Melissa McCarthy as the apparent defacto leader of the team, who looks like a soldier ready to take control of things; Kate McKinnon, who's someone who's not that affected; Leslie Jones, who doesn't really need a proton backpack to bust some ghosts; and Kristen Wiig, which fans expect to be the focal character in the movie, looks like she's prepared to do her work, as listed by the source.
Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon comprises the all-female ghostbusting foursome, with Chris Hemsworth to star as well as cameo roles by most of the original "Ghostbusters" cast, such as Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Pots, and Sigourney Weaver (with the exception of Rick Moranis, who decided not to make an appearance, and Harold Ramis, who died last year), as stated by EW.
However, the film was also surrounded with controversies earlier this year, where much of the sentiment seemed to revolve around the idea of "Ghostbusters 3" movie casting women as an inherently political act with commenters calling it a "feminist remake", as reported by iDigital Times.
"The fact there was so much controversy because we were women was surprising to me," Kristen Wiig responded to a question about the controversy, courtesy of E Online.
"Some people said some really not nice things about the fact there were women. It didn't make me mad; it just really bummed me out. We're really honoring those movies," she added.
