"Turok: Dinosaur Hunter" was released for the Nintendo 64 and the PCs in 1997. It was one of the first shooters to have polygonal 3D rendered environments as features. Today it was announced that the remastered version of "Turok" will be launching this coming Thursday on the PC, according to Digital Trends. It will be remastered by Night Dive Studios. The founder of Night Dive Steven Kick has clarified to a game website that the remastered version of the game will be based on the PC version and not the Nintendo 64 version.

The gameplay trailer can be viewed below.

The game will support higher resolutions and the widescreen option. It will also have improved gameplay and level design. The game was originally announced last August, according to sources. Night Dive Studios has also announced that they will be remastering "Turok 2: Seeds of Evil" in the future. The developers promised that both remasters will have "enhanced graphics and other improvements."
