The 2015 Moto E smartphone gets the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, according to Venture Capital Post.

The second generation smartphone of the Motorola has been confirmed to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. The upgrade will be done through an OTA or over-the-air roll out. This will grant the device new features and improvements that many Motorola fans have been looking forward to.

Amidst the speculations that the device might not get the new build or at least anytime soon, the second generation smartphone finally confirmed for it. The rumor started due to the Moto E not included in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow plans of Motorola which was revealed last October.

In addition, the update will be coming to Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia excluding China. The OEM did not mention any details about the US, but some sites speculate it will be expected.

Aside from the Moto E smartphone acquiring the Android 6.0 update, the Moto X will also receive it, according to Telegraph Leader. Owners of this device should be able to check if they have been notified of the update. The company has already started to roll out the mobile update to the handset. This update is reported to improve the Moto X Style's battery life which is good news for owners.

In addition, some users on Reddit have confirmed that the update has improved the battery life of their device. After the update, the Moto X Style now has 7-8 hours of screen-on-time in just one charge. Others have also confirmed that their Moto X Style devices have done the same.

While the Moto E smartphone gets the Android 6.0 update today, the Moto X has gotten the update some time ago, according to Blorge. The update is reported to have a file size of 650MB and it is recommended that owners should only update their devices when they are connected to a steady Wi-Fi network.
