Netflix's ‘Jessica Jones’ Season 2 Highly Anticipated; Marvel’s ‘The Defenders’ Explained!
Fans of the Marvel Comic Universe were delighted to watch a full season of "Jessica Jones" on Netflix, the latest super hero to have its own series on the network, and are now anticipating for the release of a second season, as stated by sources.
In the past month, comic book fans received something they were anticipating on for a very long time, as the titular series "Jessica Jones" was finally aired on Netflix, wherein Season 1 became a tremendous hit, as reported by Fan Sided.
So the question on everyone's mind might be is when can the fans expect "Jessica Jones" Season 2 to come out on Netflix?
As of the moment, there has not been an official announcement for a set date of "Jessica Jones" Season 2 on Netflix, due to a conflict of schedule with the new collaboration with Marvel for the planned series, "The Defenders", according to the source.
When asked about the plans of having "Jessica Jones" Season 2 on Netflix, Melissa Rosenberg was hoping that the show could get another season despite the logistics involved in shooting it, as stated by Vanity Fair.
"I hope so. There certainly is storytelling wise," Rosenberg said in an interview, courtesy of the Hollywood Reporter. "The question becomes is there actual time? There are logistics involved, because 'Defenders' has to shoot by a certain time, contractually," she added.
"Actually, I'm not sure; I'm not at all involved in those conversations, much to my dismay. The first question is whether or not we will even get a second season. The second question is, if so, when? Will it be before 'The Defenders' or after? I'd certainly love it to be before but there are things that play into that-time, availability," she further added.
In addition, it was also announced that Netflix will introduce another MCU series next year for a standalone show for the character Luke Cage, who is portrayed by Mike Colter, according to Screen Rant.
The iconic superhero will be one of the four that will team up together for Netflix and Marvel's collaboration on "The Defenders" mini-series, as stated by the source.
This is one way of how these Marvel shows will be crossing over with one another in the coming years, as planned out by Netflix in their latest miniseries, "The Defenders", according to Cinemablend.
