‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ Trailer Released; Will Smith Not In The Cast!

"Independence Day: Resurgence" trailer release has been launched today, according to Comic Book.com.

The first "Independence Day" movie was an American epic science fiction disaster film. It was directed and co-written by Roland Emmerich. The movie follows the story of a group that wanted to end the alien threat that destroyed most of the major cities of the world. Their last chance of attack against the threat was on July 4, which is the same date as the Independence Day holiday in the US. The movie was released on July 2, 1996.

The new "Independence Day: Resurgence" film is the sequel to the 1996 version. An official trailer was revealed today which can be viewed below.

In the "Independence Day: Resurgence" trailer release, it was also mentioned the fictional website that depicts what happened between the first alien invasion until the recent one, according to Gamespot. The fictional viral website also revealed the fate of Will Smith's character after the first movie.

In addition, it was revealed the Colonel Hiller died during a military exercise gone wrong. He was test piloting a fighter plane, which was a hybrid of the alien. It malfunctioned and the cause of it was unknown. This explains why Will Smith will not be appearing in the second movie.

Other than Will Smith, most of the old stars of the first movie will be coming back with new ones like Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher and much more. It is also rumored that it will expand with at least two more sequels, according to iDigitalTimes.

Also in the "Independence Day: Resurgence" trailer release, it showed how humans have adapted to the alien technology, according to Time. It showed how Earth's military has adapted the alien technology to make their weapons stronger to fight against the aliens in case they came back. The sequel will be set 20 years after the first film.
