Android and iOS Google Wallet payment app for Apple users will be able to process payment by using their phone numbers. The company announced on Dec. 10 of the updated app feature will be launched soon.

"We've made it even easier to send money," the statement read.

You can now find and send money to anyone using just a phone number," the statement continues, according to VentureBeat. Also, the company enhance its interface and fixed vulnerabilities.

The new update will allow users to send money to anyone via a phone number that is included in their contacts. It was reported that the receiver will be able to get the money without downloading the app, according to App Advice.

They will be notified with a secure link sent through an SMS and once clicked, it will ask for the debit card details and the money will be deposited their bank account right away, according to 9 To 5 Mac.

Previously, the Google wallet payment can only be done by using an email address. The company worked hard in order to create a convenient way for their app users to send money. They wanted it to be different from services offered by Apple, Android, Samsung and Walmart Pay.

As of recently, the hailed largest retailer worldwide, Walmart joined in and released their own smart-phone payment. The system will be compatible for all debit cards, credit cards and Walmart gift cards in the U.S, according to Forbes.

Walmart wanted to enhance their own MCX technology that was developed in 2012 to counterpart their rival's CurrentC. The announcement was made two weeks before Christmas and doesn't have any intention to compete with Apple Pay.

Unlike other tech giants, Google indulged into making a peer-to-peer payment system for efficient use, considering the launched Android Pay. Apple device users will be able to download it from the App Store for free.

Google Wallet release date will be announced soon while Walmart Pay will be available for iOs and Android platform in mid of 2016.
