‘XCOM 2’ Release Date Is In February 2016; Three Game Expansions Announced! [VIDEO]
"XCOM 2's" release date will be on February 2016, according to Cross Map.
The sequel to the famous strategy game a few years ago, "XCOM: Enemy Within," "XCOM 2" is a science fiction game where the players take on the mantle as the commander of an elite force tasked to defend Earth against aliens. This time the game will take place 20 years after the events of "Enemy Unknown." The story will follow the alternate story of the "XCOM" force losing the war.
2k and Firaxis have also announced today that "XCOM 2" will have a Digital Deluxe Edition and it is now available for pre-order, according to Business Wire. This pre-order will have a price tag of $74.99. "XCOM 2's" release date will be on Feb. 5, 2016 and it will launch globally. The game will be playable on the PC.
The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game will have the game's soundtrack and the Reinforcement Pack, according to Gamespot. The pack will contain three expansion packs. The three expansion packs are the "Anarchy's Children," "Alien Hunters" and "Shen's Last Gift."
The "Anarchy's Children" expansion pack will feature rebellion-themed content with new dramatic soldier customizations, according to iDigitalTimes. It will be released in spring 2016. The "Alien Hunters" expansion pack will introduce new gameplay and will have a story of "XCOM" as an elite alien hunting unit which tracks down aliens. It will also have new customizations, a new mission and more powerful weapons and armor. It will be released in summer 2016.
In addition, the "Shen's Last Gift" expansion pack will introduce a new soldier class with unique upgradeable weapons, armor and customization features. There is also a new mission and map to try out. The "XCOM 2" expansion pack release date will be on summer 2016.
