‘Dying Light’ Free DLC Started Out As A Joke; Will Be Included In The Enhanced Edition!
"Dying Light" free DLC started out as a joke for a certain promotion for another game DLC, according to PlayStationLifeStyle.net.
"Dying Light" will be getting the enhanced edition, which enhances the visual graphics and fixes issues of the game. It also adds new features that players can enjoy for a new experience. Those who have the base game already will only need to download the DLC which is for free. Otherwise, players will need to purchase the game along with the enhancement DLC.
The new DLC that was recently developed by Techland was supposed to be a joke for another game which was "Destiny." The game developers were teasing "Destiny's" Red Bull promotion a few months ago. They made a spoof of the promotion and that led to the creation of the free #DrinkforDLC content.
Last June, Techland launched the "Drink For DLC" campaign, according to IGN. This was to make fun at the marketing promotion of "Destiny." The mechanics of the campaign were to have players take a picture of themselves drinking water. The pictures will be posted on Twitter with the hashtag and they will get some free content as a reward for the effort.
The campaign ended in success with the community, according to Game Zone. The posts with the hashtag reached more than 15 million people and resulted in over 15,000 photos and videos of fans drinking water. The result of the campaign was that Techland created the "Dying Light" free DLC pack with the theme of the campaign.
The DLC pack had "The Fountain of Youth," which is an exploration-based quest that will take place in Old Town, according to Gamespot. It also contains the Water 2.0 blueprint, which is for an electrifying throwable weapon. It makes other electric attacks stronger. The last content is the new parkour challenges with the theme of water.
The "Dying Light" free DLC with the theme of water will be part of the "Dying Light: The Following" Enhanced Edition. It will be released on Feb. 9, 2016.
