'Destiny: The Taken King' New Emotes Released; In-Game Currency Explained!
"Destiny: The Taken King" new emotes have been added Bungie which can be purchased with new currency via in-game microtransaction, according to sources.
Bungie's sci-fi shooter game announced back in October that they will be adding a "microtransaction" to their game, as reported by Gamerant. Now, "Destiny: The Taken King" new emotes have been released.
Tess Everis has been reported to return on October 13th to the Tower, with a "new storefront", "new items to sell", and a "new look", according to sources.
The items that the character will have for sale are 18 new emotes that can only be acquired by using a new currency in the game called Silver, which can be purchased using real world money via the Playstation Store or the Xbox Live Marketplace, as stated by Gamerant.
The introduction of Silver marked the games' first set of "microtransaction" options that is used to provide support for Bungie's live team for another year as it expands and creates more content for players, as reported by Gamespot.
Senior designer, Derek Caroll, explained the implementation of the "microtransaction" in an interview with Eurogamer.
"With 'Taken King' we are moving to a more event-based model - things like Festival of the Lost and Sparrow racing, which is our winter event, and then smaller events such as Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris every weekend," said Bungie's "Destiny" senior designer.
"Rather than doing these giant, monolithic DLC packs, this way everybody who's an owner of Taken King can enjoy these things."
When questioned as to the reason why "Destiny" developer Bungie and publisher Activision modified the game's business model, the senior designer said, "Basically, the live team is charged with maintaining the game and keeping players happy, feeding them new content and surprising them with things they didn't expect."
However, in recent events, Bungie's sci-fi shooter game "Destiny" surprised its fans by allowing players to pick up old emotes as loot rewards in-game, as told by Gamespot.
Now that it has been reported that emotes are now dropping as loot, the fans of the game who don't want to spend real world money now have other options, according to sources.
