‘Final Fantasy VI Remake’ PC Version Coming Via Steam; Price Speculated!
"Final Fantasy VI Remake" will be coming to the PC platform via Steam, according to Polygon.
The remake is from the original "Final Fantasy VI," which was a role-playing video game. The game was published by Square and it was launched for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was first launched on April 2, 1994. This game's story is set in a fantasy world which has technology the same as the Second Industrial Revolution. It focuses on a group of rebels that want to overthrow the government ruled by dictatorship.
In addition, "Final Fantasy VI" was ported to different platforms. First, the game was ported to the PlayStation One in 1999, then the Game Boy Advance in 2006 and lastly was ported to the Wii's Virtual Console in 2011. It became a PSone Classic in 2011 as well and it was remade first for the mobile platforms.
Today, Square Enix has announced that the "Final Fantasy VI Remake" mobile version will now be heading to the PC via Steam, according to IGN. The game will be released this coming Dec. 16 on Steam. This goes with the port of the mobile version of "Final Fantasy V" on Steam last September.
The key features of the game are the "painstakingly recreated graphics," by veteran character designer Kazuko Shibuya, better controls and active-time battle system and the PC version has Steam achievements and Trading cards, according to Siliconera.
Some game websites, like Kotaku, are criticizing the sprite designs of the characters since the "Final Fantasy VI Remake" will use the mobile version of the remake. It uses "the same sprites and interface as the atrocious-looking mobile version." There are no details on what the price tag of the game will be but some websites speculate that it will have the same price of the mobile version which is about $16.
