iPhone 6s Battery Case Introduced By Apple; 25 Hours Boost Promised?
Apple introduced a smart battery case on Tuesday for iPhone 6s priced at $99.
The battery case design shows a minimal bulge at the back and has a size similar to a credit card. It can boost up Apple's iPhone 6S battery life up to 25 hours, can suffice 18 hours of internet usage running on 4G LTE speed and streaming videos for 20 hours, according to CNET.
The Apple iPhone 6s battery case will cost $99, and will be available for UK for £79 and in Australia for AU$165.
Apple's iPhone 6s will display an intelligent battery status on the notification center and lock screen once the battery case is used. It will also inform the user how much battery percentage is left to charge. The new product will be available in gray and white variants that supports lightning products, according to MacRumors.
Chief Design Officer Jony Ive along with Apple's design team worked hard in creating the battery case design so that it would still go with the smartphone's sleek themed appearance.
The Apple iPhone 6s battery case has a silicon outer part and has a microfiber lining inside. The booster is already available on the company's online store and will be compatible for the regular iPhone 6 model. There were no official statement released as of the moment whether they will be producing a similar one for older versions, iPhone 6 Plus or the 6S Plus, according to The Verge.
The birth of the new product allegedly became an acknowledgment from Apple that their iPhones' batteries has its limits. The company hasn't revealed its specifications in terms of MaH capacity into the market.
Apple's iPhone 6s smart battery case may not be the first to hold onto its design and functionality. Mophie, a case manufacturer had already been selling these type of accessory for the smartphone.
