PS2 Games On PS4 Confirmed To Be In Production; Better Graphics Promised As Sony Release Statement!

Sony's New Game Unit, Playstation 4 Goes On Sale

PS2 games on PS4 are coming soon to the console with better graphics and resolution, according to Destructoid.

Just a few days ago, the PlayStation 2 emulator was leaked accidentally by Sony Entertainment with the "Dark Cloud" PS2 game trailer. It was immediately pulled out because of the details it entailed. It was rumored that players can't use physical discs and will need to download the PS2 games again.

Today it was announced that that several PS2 titles are coming to the PlayStation 4 console this month. These games will have better rendered graphics, Trophies and PS4 system features like Remote Play, broadcasting and Share Play, according to Polygon. The games have also been upscaled to 1080p, which will be compatible for current LCD and LED TV sets.

The PS2 games on PS4 which will be available include "Dark Cloud" which will have a price tag of $14.99, along with "Grand Theft Auto III," "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City," "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," "Rogue Galaxy" and "The Mark of Kri" which also will all have a price tag of $14.99, according to Gamespot.

 In addition, "Twisted Metal: Black" and "War of the Monsters" will have a price tag of $9.99. "PaRappa the Rapper 2" and "The King of Fighters 2000" will be added at a later date.

Sony Europe has also trademarked a few of those games just today, which means it will come to the PS4 through PSN Europe. It might also have "Fantavision" and "Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits" in the nearby future, according to sources

Sony was asked why the prices were expensive and a representative answered Polygon's inquiry. The representative said that enhanced features were one of the reasons why the games have a higher price and that these games offer "an upgraded gaming experience compared to PS One/PS2 Classics."
