Playboy Magazine's Last Nude Issue Confirms Pamela Anderson For Cover; Double Edition To Hit Stands Friday!
Pamela Anderson has been chosen to grace Playboy magazine's last nude issue, ending the publication's 60-year run of featuring naked women, according to the Independent.
Interviewed by occasional contributor James Franco, the former "Baywatch" star will be on the cover of the Jan./Feb. 2016 edition.
As part of an editorial redesign, the men's publication announced in October that the company will no longer publish fully nude women and for the historic last shoot, there was only one woman, cited USA Today.
"I got a call from (Hugh Hefner's) attorney who said, 'We don't want anybody else,'" revealed Anderson in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Online. "'There's nobody else, could you do the last cover of Playboy?'"
Before agreeing to do the shoot, the 48-year old revealed she had to check first with sons Brandon, who is 19 years old and Dylan, 17. For years, the boys were teased and made fun of and had a few fistfights over their mom."
Pamela Anderson informed her sons of the nudity.
"'Mom you've got to do it,'" was Brandon's reply, shared Anderson in the interview. "'We're older, we're not embarrassed anymore of you. You know, we think you're great.'"
The magazine tweeted a photo Thursday, using the hashtag #LastOne.
The double issue mark's Anderson's fifteenth pictorial and fourteenth Playboy cover, revealed Daily Mail.
This being her last Playboy shoot, Pamela Anderson said she made the most out of it.
"I took off all my clothes, and I rolled down the hill as fast as I can," she said. "I was just screaming, and hair and boobs were flying, and shoes were going everywhere."
On its debut cover in 1953, the men's magazine featured Marilyn Monroe and a nude centerfold of the actress was also printed. Monroe did not specifically pose nude for the magazine. Hugh Hefner bought the actress' picture from a printer who made calendars.
The publication said it will continue to publish "sexy, provocative pictorials" of women which includes its iconic Playmates, but they will not be in the nude. Playboy Magazine's March edition will feature interviews, long-form journalism, fiction and a new design.
Play magazine's last issue will feature a 2-page pictorial with Anderson. It will hit newsstands on Friday, Dec. 11.
