SHINee Member Onew Tests Positive For COVID-19, Upcoming Appearances Canceled Including ‘2023 SMTOWN LIVE’
SM Entertainment released a statement on Monday that SHINee member Onew has tested positive for COVID-19. His upcoming schedule appearances will be canceled and will be under quarantine to follow South Korea's national disease control guidelines.
In connection to his appearances, the management also confirmed that Onew will no longer making appearances in two major events namely December 14's Happy Onew Day and 2023 SMTOWN LIVE: SMCU PALACE @KWANGYA in which pre-record is slated for December 15.
SM Entertainment confirmed that other SHINee members Minho and Key will still be recording their solo performances for the 2023 SMTOWN LIVE as scheduled. However, those who are confirmed to be attending the pre-recording were advised that the recording would be delayed for an hour due to schedule restructuring.
SHINee is a K-pop boy band formed by SM Entertainment in 2008. The group consist of the following members: Onew, Key, Minho, Taemin, and Jonghyun (+). They are considered in the industry as one of the best live vocal groups in K-pop and popularly known for their synchronized and complex dance awards. They were awarded Best Dance Performance Award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards for three consecutive times.
