BTS, SEVENTEEN, NCT, & More, Top Selling K-Pop Albums For The First Half Of 2022

Recent reports noted that the first half of 2022 was great for K-Pop album sales! Is your favorite K-Pop artist among the idols that made it big? Keep reading to find out!

As per the recent data that were collected, the total sales of the top 400 best-selling physical K-Pop albums have gone up 34.6% compared to 2021. The data is based on accumulated album and song streams and sales with a total of 34.9 million albums sold globally.

The number of albums sold in the first half of each year has been going up since 2018, which totaled 10.48 million in that year. The first half of 2019 saw 12.93 million sales, the first half of 2020 garnered18.36 million sales, and the first half of 2021 was around 25.96 million sales.

As for the best-selling artists for the year so far, it was revealed that the six K-Pop artists who have contributed most to the album sales are notable favorites.

First are the members of BTS, who have sold around 4.52 million albums so far this 2022.

 

In second place is NCT DREAM with 3.98 million album sales. 

 

SEVENTEEN then ranks third with 2.72 album million.

 

Following their seniors' footsteps, TXT ranks fourth at 2.10 million album sales.

 

JYP Entertainment's Stray Kids comes in a close 5th place with 2.07 million album sales.

 

Last but not the least, soloist Lim Young Woong places 6th with 1.14 million album sales.

 

K-Pop is truly growing into a global powerhouse year by year and 2022 is its biggest year so far!
