Spilling The Tea With Marie Claire Magazine, Why Yujin Didn’t Enjoy IVE’s 1st Win & More
Most K-Pop artists usually bask in the glory of their first win. But it seems like Yujin isn't like most idols as she did not enjoy IVE's first victory.
IVE's leader was recently featured in an interview and photoshoot for Marie Claire magazine. On the day of the photoshoot and interview, Yujin just took home the trophy on a music show for IVE's "LOVE DIVE."
Previously when IVE debuted with IVE with their debut song "ELEVEN" in December, the girl group won their first music show trophy in seven days. They went on to set a new record for the fastest female K-Pop group to garner their first music show win.
But IVE's Yujin revealed that at the time, she hadn't enjoyed IVE's first win. Why? The idol was too worried about the future. But now with IVE's win with "LOVE DIVE," the K-Pop idol was able to enjoy their success.
"The first time we won first place, I wasn't able to enjoy it. I kept worrying about our next steps, thinking, 'What do we do from now on?' But starting from when we were preparing for this round of promotions, I gradually began to feel more certain and confident. The more certain I felt, the more I was able to enjoy it," IVE's Yujin revealed.
Furthermore, Yujin also talked about how being in IVE has positively changed her. When asked what she wanted her girl group to show the public during their promotions, Yujin pointed toward the "LOVE DIVE" lyrics: "If you want, dare to dive in."
Notably, Yujin said that she can't say that IVE and her are alike. But the idol expressed that maybe because it's the image that she wants to become. As Yujin goes about her life as a member of IVE and makes music that shares a message of independence.
"I find myself changing as well. I also want to keep showing the side of myself in the future that is most like IVE," IVE's leader revealed.
