According to Stray Kids' Bang Chan, K-pop idols have difficult schedules that start immensely early in the morning and end very late at night. Due to this, their vocals will not always be in tip top shape.
Thus, there will be some instances that a K-pop artist has to attend a lot of meetings prior to performing on stage. When it is time to perform, the voices of K-pop artists would be tired and hoarse from the talking. Hence why not all artists can sing well for their fans.
If this instance occurs, the K-pop artist's pre-recordings are played during their live performance. When this happens, the fans can still see their favorite K-pop idol perform, and the K-pop artist does not need to use unnecessary strain in their voices.
