'Gremlins 3' Movie Confirmed; Plot To Follow A Timeline Like 'Jurassic World?'
"Gremlins 3" movie has been confirmed to be in the works.
The 51-year old main star of the movie, Billy Peltzer, played by Zach Galligan confirmed the upcoming movie saying, "It's not going to be a reboot."
"It will not be a remake in any way, shape, or form," he added, during the 1984 movie screening in London, reported E! News.
The "Gremlins 3" movie sequel speculation has been circulating for almost a year. The first movie introduced a fluffy character named Gizmo, brought by Billy's father from a Chinese Antique store, while the second "Gremlins" film was shown in 1990.
Galligan said that the "Gremlins 3" plot will be similar to "Jurassic World" where it will align events after 30 years from the first one and will feature the same characters from the original "Gremlins" film.
The production is currently being planned, sources stated.
Although Galligan was the one who confirmed the plans for "Gremlins 3," he said, "I swear on my life I don't know if I'm in it or not," according to Daily Mail.
Chris Columbus, producer of "Gremlins 3," said that, "We were approached with an idea that really sounded like an interesting version," according to Slash Film.
"It's not a remake of the movie at all...it's just a reinvention of it," he added. The original director, Joe Dante was reported that might not be joining the team for the sequel.
Galligan shared that the movie is very close to Columbus' heart and as long as he lives he will not allow a remake for the movie. Columbus said that, "It's the same universe, the same rules, same gremlins, but not the same," according to Entertainment Weekly.
Zach Galligan said there still a chance for him to make a comeback for the "Grimlins 3" movie since he is one of the actors left from the first franchise.
