You Can Enjoy Your Fave ‘Disney Plus’ Content Soon If You Live In These Countries

Good news for Disney fans out there, you may now be able to watch your favorite "Disney Plus" shows as the online streaming platform is launching in three new countries. Find out if your country is included.

On August 13, Walt Disney Company announced that they'll be expanding their reach in Asia. According to the company, "Disney Plus" will launch in South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong this coming November 2021.

Additionally, the Walt Disney Company announced that they will be expanding their offerings in Japan this coming October. In their official announcement, the company shared that they'll be adding general entertainment content in Japan from the Star brand.

Such a decision was a response to the growing number of consumers seeking more "Disney Plus" content especially in the Asia Pacific Region.

"The response towards Disney+ across the Asia Pacific has exceeded our expectations, as consumers seek diverse entertainment content and are drawn to our portfolio of brands and franchises," The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific President Luke Kang said.

Furthermore, the President of The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific also hinted at more consumer engagement within the region in the future.

The addition of South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan is expected to catalyze another subscriber increase for the streaming platform who has recently beat prediction by over a million more than what was forecasted. Currently, "Disney Plus" is Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Although fairly new, "Disney Plus" has since become one of the leading runners in the online streaming game alongside Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix. Aside from offering Disney original content, the streaming platform also exclusively shows content produced by Marvel, Pixar, Star, National Geographic, and Star Wars.
