Ahead Of Latest Military Trial, Seungri Pens Apology To BIGBANG, YG Entertainment, & Fans
Ending 2 days ago as of writing this article, Seungri's military trial ended on the 1st of July. Ahead of this, the BIGBANG member released an apology addressed to BIGBANG, YG Entertainment, and fans.
In the military trial, the military prosecution asked for a 5-year prison sentence and a fine amounting to KRW 20.0 million, approximately 17.6k dollars, for all charges pertaining to Seungri.
The military prosecution proclaimed:
"For the sake of Seungri's economic interests, he entertained foreign investors with sexual favors and maintained their friendship through gambling together. Even though it was cracked down on before, he was operating an adult entertainment venue with no permit for two years, embezzling funds from corporate, showing habitual gambling, and reaching for personal revenge, all of which are serious crimes.
Although the defendant has benefited greatly from these crimes, he is passing the blame onto others without reflecting on his actions. The nature of the crimes is not good, and severe punishment is needed."
Following this, the legal counsel of Seungri noted that the charges all came from public views. Furthermore, evidence was not the complete basis for Seungri's guilt.
Seungri's legal council expressed, "This trial is only a threat to force a prominent celebrity to kneel down while shouting at him 'you know your sins, now reflect on them.'"
After the event, Seungri noted an apology towards BIGBANG, YG Entertainment, and his personal fans.
In his apology, Seungri stated that he has been reflecting on himself for the past three years. He promises to be 'reborn' from the event. Seungri noted that he is sorry to have caused concern to the people of Korea. He also apologizes to his fans, his family, his former group BIGBANG, and YG Entertainment.
