YG Entertainment, founded in 1996, is one of the most popular and successful K-pop entertainment companies to date. YG Entertainment is noted as part of the original 'Big 3' alongside JYP Entertainment and SM Entertainment.

Recently, the founder of YG Entertainment has been charged with an illegal action as fans all over the world are shocked!

As per reports from Yonhap News, the prosecution has charged Yang Hyun Suk, founder and previous CEO of YG Entertainment, of attempting to use his money to cover up his artist using drugs.

Not long ago, Yang Hyun Suk was also investigated under suspicion for using money to try to cover up his artist using drugs. The YG Entertainment founder will be placed on trial very soon.

Announced on the 7th of June by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, the YG Entertainment founder has violated the Additional Punishment Laws on Specific Crimes because he threatened to fight back for him to cover up his crimes, initially.

As per the investigations, Yang Hyun Suk tried to sway a witness's statement to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

The YG Entertainment founder was pointed out by the witness by releasing a statement pertaining to drug buys from a K-pop idol from his company. The K-pop idol was the former leader and member of iKON, B.I.

B.I went on to test negative for drug-use in February of last year 2020 and the police has gone on to investigate further since then. The case is now for prosecution, charging B.I and Yang Hyun Suk and B.I will be on trial for drug use.

Fans are shocked and are hoping that the case will blow over as quickly as possible with a resolution.

The current CEO of YG Entertainment is Hwang Bo Kyung as of June of 2019.
